Sample Lottery Scam Email:
Once Promo
The Once Promo lottery scam is another that claims that "email addresses were used" and it "is a promotional program aimed at encouraging internet users; therefore you do not need to buy ticket". Of course, this is absolute nonsense. It is a scam.
There are many signs that this is a fraud. Note the clues to an obvious scam that we have highlighted in the letter; keep confidential, selected by a random computer lottery of email addresses, use of free email accounts, etc.
Here is a typical scam lottery winning notification.
